VOTING RIGHTS
As far as policy goes, voting should be made easier, not harder.
The claim that the integrity of our most recent elections was compromised is a fabrication. It just didn’t happen.
As Senator, I’ll fight to make sure every Texan has a simple, easily understood ability to cast their ballot. As far as redistricting and the Texas gerrymandering is concerned, I’ll give my full support to Congress passing the John Lewis Voting Rights Act to ensure every American has an equal voice in who represents them. VOTERS SHOULD BE ABLE TO CHOOSE WHO REPRESENTS THEM, not the other way around.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM
CJR is an issue, a complicated issue that is going to take imagination and fresh new ideas to solve. I know that with the right minds in the room, and current technology, along with motivation and urgency, I am the right candidate to help come up with these solutions.
MINORITY RIGHTS
Minority Rights are perhaps the central ideal behind the ground level Democrat. As a hispanic man, I know the hardships that come from under representation. As a teacher, I see how my black, or LGBTQ+, or female students, or any other number of categorized identification students and parents are marginalized, EVERY SINGLE DAY! We share struggles and obstacles that those not considered minorities just cannot imagine, no matter how hard they try or how much they care. I will fight for Minority Rights, for a better tomorrow for my son, for my nieces and nephews, and for the kids I work with every day. I’ll work so that they won’t have to feel certain pains, so that they won’t have to cry because of the color of their skin, or how they identify.
HEALTH CARE
We are the wealthiest nation in the history of the world. Why is healthcare an issue? It’s an issue because the richest, and most influential people in the country want it this way. They want to be able to exploit our countries most vulnerable, as well as the well functioning system they helped design to be this way. As Senator, I’ll work to make simple, functional changes that benefit the masses as opposed to the capable few percent. And I won’t make the mistake of promising it in 2 weeks.
